PARABLE:
As we
walk by marvelous smelling concession stands at various fairs &
music festivals, my friends & I often joke: What?-- One day did some
people look at a [fat-filled cream chocolate] cookie & ask "Hmm----
wonder how we can make this thing MORE unhealthy??---- I know, let's
DEEP-FRY it!" ... And then we crack up laughing even tho it's an ancient
joke now. The TV cooking show I have on for 'background noise' just
promised a coming recipe for French Fried Strawberries.

FIRE- for example.
It warms us, cooks our food, kills bacteria, clears underbrush...
But the Blessing from God can easily be used to cause harm. Deliberately.
So also with many other blessings. THE TONGUE- for example.
With it we enjoy fellowship with people, we praise & worship LORD God...
and we can burn and hurt people devastatingly with gossip & lies.
What does LORD God say ?? "Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell." James 3:5-6 and on.
Through James, God starts His word with this command: PRAY FOR WISDOM.
