PARABLE:
Always loved bare feet. In church, I'd slip off patent leather (painful pointed) shoes Mom loved.. getting fussed at when I forgot to hide my feet & shoes under the pew. Was thinking on that, Sunday. Preacher ended sermon sooner than expected-- had to struggle to find my shoes before he finished final prayer... when I was supposed to walk to piano in front of everyone!...

SO WHAT ??
Mom never appreciated my Sunday School lesson to her:
"God said 'Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground'.”
Exodus 3:5,      Joshua 5:15,      Acts 7:33                  [CLICK FOR LINKS]
Like to Moses at Burning Bush--
Sometimes God tells us to honor Him by
obeying His command that we remove our self-protection....
figuratively being willing to risk deep pain
from scorpion bites, cutting rocks, & burning sands.
Are we willing?

What does LORD God say ??  JOSHUA 5:13-15... some people think this
may have been Jesus the Lord appearing to Jushoa:

13  And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”
14  So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”
15  Then the Commander of the LORD’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.
