Green Acres TV Parable - by DianaDee Osborne

GREEN ACRES TV PARABLE     SUBSCRIBE

PARABLE:
My parents made us watch Green Acres when we were little.
Made us have family time around the 1 TV.
It's a bit less boring in color TV with all the outfits Lisa wears; I think I was in college before Dad decided the B&W was dead enough to replace... Anyway...

that was back when Mom & Dad provided for all our needs, helped us learn how to avoid snakes (literal ones:} & kissed our ouchy boo boos. Back when we didn't have a clue what Europe was-- much less politics

Today I figured out that this is probably why I wearily plopped
in front of a still rather boring Green Acres marathon.
Trying to feel like the peace of those days (minus the snakes).   Apologizing to God. But still sitting here.

SO WHAT ??
First Kings 19:   Elijah has been much criticized for "lack of faith" after
all his victories for God, when he starts whining in fear after Jezebel - from a
distance - sends a bitty note. But NOT criticized by God
God gave Elijah food, deep sleep, time to recuperate... and THEN the still-caring order to "get moving" so Elijah could go help others. A model for churches.

A model for each of us: When depressed, worn out, keep praying for wisdom
and trusting God ... including realizing that GOD UNDERSTANDS what it's like.
Jesus "suffered the same temptations" as us ( ) - including to dire weariness.
Re-read Hebrews 5 and you'll most likely find joy in God's discovery for you.  LINK

What does LORD God say ??   2nd Corinthians 1:   LINK

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort
those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves
are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us,
so our consolation also abounds through Christ....
For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. 9   Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves,
that we should not trust in ourselves but
in God who raises the dead,
10 who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us;
in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,....
