Facebook PARABLE:
Walked to the deck door as soon as I got up & of course every feeder was empty in this frigid DC area's temp that 'the north' would love to have. Dozens of birds huddled around the squirrel trap... that I've never had the heart to use on the annoying critters, so I put feed *IN* there where little birds happily can eat.

And I LAUGHED.
Have you ever made a mistake so DUMB that you laughed at it for yrs?
Journaling in church cemetery in 2013, I watched birds hopping all over seeking food in grass, and thought, Does God guide birds to find food?..
Instant reply... beyond my wisdom!... >>
"Cannot God who created the Universe manage to put some seeds in bird paths,
yet leaving them the joy of discovery that He DOES provide?"...

Then God helped me to find a verse in one of my favorite Psalms that
I had not noticed amid my delight that He knows the Name of Each Star-- & thus me!
"He gives food to the wild animals
and feeds the young ravens when they cry." -- Psalm 147:9 LINK

Which matches Job 38:41 >> "Who provides food for the ravens
when their young cry out to God
and wander about in hunger?" THE ANSWER, of course, is CREATOR GOD!

SO WHAT ??

Same Question for you & me: CAN GOD JUST MAKE WHAT WE NEED?
.......... why not ??????? .........
GOD can JUST MAKE what I need. __
God PROVIDES for ALL my needs:
Provides far beyond bird seeds. __
LORD help me, remember, please, the
words of this silly but true poem :)

What does LORD God say ?? Isaiah 46:4:

"Even to your old age, I AM [God],

And even to gray hairs I will carry you!

I have made, and I will bear;

Even I will carry, and will deliver you."

Facebook PARABLE:
I love the puzzles of 'Vanity plates'. With many miles of travel, license plates entertain me when I have to watch vehicles more closely than God's enjoyable scenery. Seldom do I pay attn to the driver, but last week I did:

LIV4ME the car's owner declared.

Passing the slow car, I glanced over- really expecting to see

some young teen cautious with a new license, or a 20-something chatting on a phone. Nope. 'Twas a lady at least mid-50s.
.

And I felt SAD4HER

We're supposed to grow mature-- I've loved getting older's lessons in

trusting God, with Confidence that doesn't care when people criticize

(after praying for wisdom of Do They Have a Point?).
.

But where's the JOY in LIVE4ME ?

None, really. That's why many of us love to GIVE gifts:

JOY in GIV2THM. 2nd Corinthians 3:18...

True joy as we reflect God. Whose plates could be GAVE2U - or:

DIED4U

SO WHAT ??

Either Jesus is your LORD or you are. No in between. Sad consequences

for all who make the self-centered, wrong choice.

The DUMB choice, since God cares for each of us more than we do for ourselves.

What does LORD God say ?? Matthew 6, Jesus speaking

Lay Up Treasures in Heaven

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? ...

PARABLE:
After finding an address I'd jotted down in my previous 400 pg journal, # 25, I flipped thu pages & read notes from the ALIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL in Ohio this past June 18th.

Found a giant squashed mosquito body in crease between pages 16 & 17... guess that describes part of the experience.. before the drenching rains came! Dug a bit deeper, studied the words of speaker Matt Chandler. He said
about Father God, described in Romans 8:15,
" 'Abba' is more than just 'Daddy'.
'Abba' is My dad can beat up your dad!... It's
Look at MY Dad -- HE created the Universe! .... It's
My Dad LOVES me...
my Dad will TAKE CARE of me
and PROTECT me!".......

Pretty cool scripture study. Glad that mosquito didn't call for God's help.

SO WHAT ??

Psalm 147: In the middle of telling how HE HEALS THE BROKEN-HEARTED,
God prompts the Psalmist to SUDDENLY write about this Fatherly God:
He counts the number of the stars;

PARABLE:
Travel Trivia: AFTER paying up to $1,000 for graphics co's design & production,
rent is $75-$200 per month for a countryside highway---
or $900-$2,500 for city one.
Whoever installed a NC billboard is probably in BIG trouble (pun intended):
MANY wrinkles.
YET: The message of the creator is EASY to read...
And God tells us the same:
His Grace is sufficient THRU our weakness to get His message through:
Using us even though we're weak, imperfect.

What does LORD God say ??    2nd Corinthians 12:9

Most gladly therefore will I   [Paul is writing] rather

SO WHAT ??

1. We canNOT be pride-filled when we remember that what we do is
ONLY by God's power! It's EXCITING to miss that temptation!
We can far more easily LAUGH at Satan's temptations to be proud

when we remember that ONLY by God's power are our works & speaking "unwrinkled."

For His Glory... Verse 21.

2. God declares that we ARE to be without wrinkles, in His empowering...

Ephesians 5:27, "that He might present her to Himself a glorious church,

not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing,

but that she should be holy and without blemish."

(Jude 1:12, "These are SPOTS in your love feasts,

while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves.")

THIS IS BASED ON GOD'S COMMANDS in Leviticus 21 that His sacrifices

be perfect.... - INTERESTING LINK - and WE are to give ourselves to Him

as our sacrifice... ROMANS 12:1,

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you

present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy [set apart],

acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Psalm 56:4

"I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O LORD, for it is good!"

PARABLE:
Within 1/2 hr of driving, van gas gauge went from indicating 1/4 full to showing an orange warning light- and the Range indicator saying I had 22 miles left.
Managed to get to a station within 10 miles.
Sure enough, pump showed I'd had only 1/2 gallon left: 13 miles.

I BASICALLY like my van model to get same model after
Snowstorm Tree totaled old van.
But I've always hated this feature that's same as 2010 models...
AND that we can't leave on headlights when we get out &
go to front door in the dark-- The company thinks we're too stupid
to know we left the lights on for 30 seconds.... THE LIGHTS GO OFF.

SO WHAT ??

....... The company that makes my van never asks its customers
what they do or don't like-- so   the vans Never Improve. Bad features stay.

And... I've been in dozens of churches as a traveling visitor:
Only 1 has ever given visitors a form asking
"What would you suggest we change?"

And for almost every church: In cold OR hot weather,
no one stands outside the closed front door to welcome anyone--
even minutes before a service....
........ I've literally sat in my van some days at 10:50 for an 11 AM service, fighting the urge to drive away. Once in PA, I did.... So let me here commend a Stafford County VA church that even had greeters waiting *15 minutes after* service started-- telling me as I walked up late, "Welcome Home!"   Thank you, Strong Tower Ministries!: I certainly felt welcomed & comforted as I entered a new place to worship our LORD.

Yet Another Bill Facebook Parable - by DianaDee Osborne

PARABLE:
Each time I think I've met all requirements... here comes another bill.
Been 3 months, really feeling better after operation, but seems no end-
though the doctor's office had told me beforehand of only 2 bills that would come.
God is great... we can afford to pay. >>>>>>

SO WHAT ??
God is helping me to realize a parallel as I study CULTS that claim to be Christian:
People are (1) promised they will feel better if they come,
(2) told a few things they must "do to be saved".
And so.... they're happy awhile in their new "church".....

But over time, they're told they've graduated to learn of
"one more thing" they have to do ("pay") .......
   & then..... and then.....

Some Christians / churches use God's Bible the same way:
First they declare TRUTH of Romans 10:9 as only 2 requirements;
but then tell people they must join & serve in a church, .... and then
be baptized.... and then BE this & DO that...
and oh, of COURSE must tithe & give lotsa $$$ to that church to be "really saved"....
exactly what God had to teach AGAINST thru Paul.

    PEACE,   Jesus promised (John 14:27).
PEACE that even CHILDREN can understand His Promise & Way of Salvation.
   Luke 18: 10 "Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”
    FEAR,   Satan tries to bring (John 10:10, 8:44).
Satan lies--- tells you it's too easy, you must be misunderstanding....
the LIE that SURELY you must DO something to be saved......    besides accept Jesus as LORD, like Jesus said.
As Paul wrote in 2nd Corinthians 11:3,
"But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness,
             so your minds may be corrupted from
                                            the   SIMPLICITY ** that is in Christ."

God is a LOVING Father. FAITH in God trusts that He hasn't
HIDDEN something about His word so that only scholars can find the true meaning.
Children listen to their father's word and believe it -- and
TRUST His forgiveness if   they mistakenly think something about His word.
    PEACE,   Jesus promised ....   We can trust the
     Peace of 2nd Timothy 3:16, God's Bible Truth.

   and we try to please those we REALLY love.
BUT keeping them canNOT save us.

accepting Jesus's gift can save anyone.

Isaiah 43:11 is one of the verses that PROVE Jesus our Savior IS God....
AND proves that YOU cannot be your own savior.
If you ASK the LORD, He SHALL help you remember it (John 14:26)
when someone says to you with a smirk,
"There's no proof of that church word 'Trinity' - People just made it up."

PARABLE:

~18 months ago, we finally got courage to spend $1,500 to replace our house's huge picture window system with insulated glass. Cold air had seeped thru for 25+ winters despite heavy draperies. Even when I pulled back draperies in summers, thick cloth blocked part of the view of the field & forest beyond.
NOW: Barely-there filmy curtains are decoration only:
They don't cover any glass.

It's such a JOY to see so much of God's world

that was ALWAYS there,

hidden because of my choice to keep draperies....

SO WHAT ??

Just as it's such a JOY to keep finding "treasures"
in God's Word that have been there all along:
Found as I keep seeking His truth while
praying for wisdom
(as God promises He will give when we ask -- like John 14:26, James 1:5-6).
Like Hebrews 12:1-3 -- such a comfort when I'm weary of people------ and of me.

What does LORD God say ??

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
